Overview
Grok Code is a custom VS Code-based IDE and marketing launch package. It brings a chat-first AI coding assistant into the editor with streaming responses, an expandable thinking timeline, permission modes, model selection, task checklists, file and command tools, web and media tooling, visual verification, secure key handling and macOS alpha release packaging.
What I did
Created the developer tool experience around a VS Code fork, including the AI assistant interface, the permission model, the marketing narrative, the app icon and the macOS alpha release tooling.
